Hook: Lottie and Jade are new stepsisters. The two of them plan on spending just one night in the remote cabin. Then, the power goes out. In the dark, a stranger, Alex, shows up asking to stay the night. After all, there is a blizzard coming. In the middle of the night, Lottie sees him talking to some strange men outside. A fire forces Lottie, Alex, and Jade into the blizzard. They realize someone, or multiple someones, are following them. Alex’s friends. And following them….more like hunting them. In the Northern California wilderness. During a blizzard.

I would maybe recommend this book

Review: I actually felt a little chill while reading this book. That’s impressive. That seems to be a theme in this book, not necessarily in a good way. The first few chapters of this book were interesting and seemed to be setting up for a great thriller. However, then the ‘disasters’ struck, each more ummm….well….. impressive. As in, making a strong impression. So strong, in fact that many of the plot points were 1 in a million, ridiculous events. To be fair, the book was quite descriptive, and I did like the characters. The main problem, I guess, came if you thought too much about how these things could actually be happening, rather than just mindlessly enjoying the book. So, if you like a good thriller book and don’t generally think too hard about the realism aspect, you’ll probably enjoy this book. For me, in the moment I did enjoy it, but when I looked back, I was like, wait…. how did they just stumble into all of these crazy events in a matter of days????
