Pretty and popular high school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, Pip sees how the tragedy still haunts her town.
But she can't shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer?
Now a senior herself, Pip decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent . . . and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn't want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger.

I would strongly recommend this book
Review: Wow!! This was a great book!! (Fun fact, this is actually the book that re-got me into reading about a year ago (so clearly I like it 😊)). This book was fast paced, entertaining, AND kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot was SUPER entertaining and by the end I REALLY wanted to know what happened. The mystery aspects had the PERFECT mix of clues, discoveries, and answers (I clearly haven’t ever tried writing a book before, but I feel like this would be super hard to do, so GREAT job Holly Jackson!!). I really liked the characters, especially the main character, Pip. She had so much personality and was BRILLIANT!! This book was so enjoyable, and definitely the sort of book that I plan to re-read over, and over, and over, and over again.
Main Characters
Pippa Fitz-Amobi: Pip is the main character in this book. She’s a senior in high school. She is passionate, strong, and chases her goals.
Ravi Singh- Ravi is the brother of a famous dead teenager in their town. He is 20 years old, kind, and loves his family.
Cara Ward- Card is Pip’s best friend in high school. She’s funny, supportive, but also a little stubborn.
Character Rating: 9.7/10
Setting-
This book takes place in a small town in New England. The setting is described REALLY well. I love the small town vibes, but near and within access to larger cities.

Holly Jackson started writing stories from a young age, completing her first (poor) attempt at a novel aged fifteen. She lives in London and aside from reading and writing, she enjoys playing video games and watching true crime documentaries so she can pretend to be a detective. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is her first novel.
