Hook:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and her longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol—a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create.
Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest that she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

I would recommend this book
Review: Nice job, Suzanne Collins!! I LOVED the first Hunger Games book, and was REALLY hoping this wouldn’t be so much worse. It wasn’t!! The pacing was off in my opinion. A good amount of this book felt rushed to me (but who knows, maybe that’s just me). However, the writing and plot parts were AMAZING. I LOVED the characters. They had so much personality and depth. This book was described well, AND I REALLY wanted to know what actually happened at the end. And the ending!! I was planning on waiting to read the next Hunger Games book for a few weeks, but… well… I couldn’t after this ending!! (I may or may not have already started it…). Anyways, this was a GREAT book that I would recommend, but it wasn’t quite as great as Hunger Games because of its pacing.
Main Characters
Katniss Everdeen- Katniss is the main character in this book. She is independent and fierce. She strives for her goals and is AMAZING with a bow and arrow. She’s from District 12.
Peeta Mellark- Peeta is also from District 12. He’s the baker’s son. He is strong and protective.
Gale Hawthorne- Gale and Katniss have been friends for years. He is great at using snares. He is more reserved, but still loyal, protective, and from District 12.
Character Rating: 9.9/10
Setting-
This book takes place in a country called Panem. It is North America, in the future, after the ocean water level has risen over part of the land. The continent now has 13 districts (plus a capital city), each of which has a different general “job.”
Setting Rating: 9.7/10
