Itā€™s been two months since the Fates were freed from a deck of cards, two months since Legend claimed the throne for his own, and two months since Tella discovered the boy she fell in love with doesnā€™t really exist.

With lives, empires, and hearts hanging in the balance, Tella must decide if sheā€™s going to trust Legend or a former enemy. After uncovering a secret that upends her life, Scarlett will need to do the impossible. And Legend has a choice to make that will forever change and define him.

Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun. There are no spectators this timeā€”only those who will win, and those who will lose everything.

I would un-doubtably recommend this book

Review: WOW!! This book took me on such a FUN rollercoaster. I loved this book so much. It was FULL of Stephanie Garberā€™s signature details and descriptions. She ALWAYS describes everything so well, you really feel like you're there (I know people say that all the time, but in this case itā€™s actually true!!). The plot of this book had a TON of ups and downs, but in a way that made the book super interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can be a SUPER emotional reader, and by the end of this, I couldnā€™t stop crying, smiling, and laughing (I was actually reading part of this on the plane and Iā€™m pretty sure the people next to me thought I was a little crazy because I kept on NEEDING to laugh (and even cry a little) but I was trying so hard not too, because I was on the plane (It didnā€™t work and I DID end up tearing up a little and laughing)). The characters in this book drew me in (as always) and I loved all of the variety of emotions they evoke. The setting was so fantastic, I loved it. šŸ˜ As you all know, endings (in my opinion) can make or break a book for me because they leave you with a lasting impression about the book. This ending ABSOLUTELY made the book and wrapped up the series as a whole well. I think this was the perfect end of the Caraval series and it is now one of my favorite series Iā€™ve read all year. (I know that there is still a Caraval novella (which Iā€™m SUPER excited to read next), but I still consider this book the end of the main series).

Main Characters

  1. Donatella Dragna- Tella is super independent and reckless. She is constantly making spur of the moment decisions and is super entertaining.

  2. Scarlett Dragna- Scarlett is Tellaā€™s older sister. She is generally more cautious, but is also starting to come out of her shell more.

  3. The Fallen Star- The Fallen Star is one of the Fates in this world. He is the un-official leader of the Fates and is not well liked.
